At the Resilient Career Summer Academy at Grossmont College, participants will receive support and training from Career Services organizers, including placement, career exploration, interview preparation, resume support, and more.
The global COVID-19 pandemic has claimed millions of lives and caused enormous economic repercussions. He forced consolidations, closings and layoffs of companies. Thousands of people have lost their jobs, forcing them to find jobs elsewhere. The future of graduates appears to be at stake as the pandemic looms.
Given the unpleasant effect COVID-19 has had on the corporate world and on its way to breaking through the current trend, Grossmont College’s CTE division has created an event focused on resilient careers, for residents of San Diego can learn more about pandemic and recession proof jobs. This two-day event is designed to cushion the effect of COVID-19 on employment, by offering sessions that show participants resilient careers and how these are unaffected by the pandemic or economic recession.
Grossmont College offers training for jobs that were identified in a Center of Excellence for Labor Market Research (COE) study as pandemic / recession proof. The academy is open to anyone interested in learning more about resilient careers and how to start a career even as COVID-19 continues to wreak havoc around the world.
Resilient Careers are in high demand and offer salary increases in San Diego County. These careers have been identified as recession / pandemic proof and are guaranteed to provide graduates with opportunities to find sustainable employment during an economic downturn or other unforeseen events. Participants will be guided and mentored by experts and qualified career guides as part of the Resilient Careers Summer Academy.
